Did you see the chicken cross the road?

Artist Janet Sheehan did.  She captures the “ordinary” scenes in nature with watercolors and the use of colored pencils of birds, animals, and flowers.  You can catch the chicken crossing the road too by visiting her Artworks Around Town July exhibition.  Janet works as an attorney and teacher but always her first love is creating art.  The beauty of that single wild flower captured in soft watercolor pastel is joy to behold!  So take a moment at lunch in Centre Market and stroll through a “patch of ordinary” by artist extraordinaire Janet Sheehan.

Sunflower Seeds or Campbell Tomato Soup?

If you like both or just one then take yourself to Pittsburgh before August 28th to see an extensive magnificent show of art by Ai Weiwei and Andy Warhol.  This exhibit is showing at the Warhol Museum.  This exhibition brings forth a pairing of the best that art could offer of both the Twentieth and Twenty-First century under one roof.  You will be treated to seven floors of American work in collaboration with the work of China.  In visiting both of these realms it gives us a view into the other.  Critics have said “that both of these artists have larger than life personalities”, and I would say their Art also has this trait.  Make a summer pledge as you would a New Year resolution.  Don’t wait!  Go absorb a truly remarkable opportunity and see “Great World Art”.
